Voter Preparation - Election 2024

Did you know that South Carolina primary elections in June had only a 13.5% voter participation rate? This is the lowest turnout in over a decade! 

In a democratic society, every vote counts, and election years brings higher visibility to issues and opportunities for policy change.

SCACED encourages you to take a moment to make sure you are prepared to vote! Here are some important dates and deadlines to be aware of:

  • October 6 - Deadline to register to vote in the General Election. Applications submitted online, by fax, or by email must be received by 11:59 p.m. on October 6.

    • The last day to register in-person is Friday, October 4.

  • October 25 at 5:00 PM - Deadline to request an absentee ballot

  • If you have moved from one county to another, you must register in your new county to be eligible to vote.

  • If you’ve moved within your county or changed your name recently, update your information before Election Day to help ensure a smoother voting experience.
