Are you ready to vote? In a democratic society, every vote counts, and election years brings higher visibility to issues and opportunities for policy change.
This year, it is especially important to vote because EVERY South Carolina State Representative and Senator is up for re-election in 2024. And considering South Carolina's 13.5% voter participation rate in the June primaries, it is incumbent upon us to exercise our civic duty and make sure our voices are heard!

Haven't updated your voter registration? Here's what you need to know:
If you've moved to a different county in SC before October 5 and haven't updated your registration, you are not eligible to vote.
If you’ve moved within your county or changed your name recently, update your information prior to election day to help ensure a smoother voting process.

Rules & Reminders
Candidates are not allowed to campaign inside polling locations.
Candidates are allow to campaign within 500 feet of an entrance of a polling location as long as there is no campaign literature, signs, or posters.
If you see a candidate campaigning or passing out literature or with signage inside a polling location or within 500 feet, inform the poll manager immediately.
No photos of videos are allowed inside polling locations.

Dates & Deadlines
October 14 - Deadline to register to vote in the General Election. Applications submitted online, by fax, or by email must be received by 11:59 p.m. on October 6.
October 25 at 5:00 PM - Deadline to request an absentee ballot
State law no longer allows absentee application requests to be made online or by email. Contact your county voter registration office to receive an application.
To vote absentee by mail, get your application by contacting your county elections office:
Monday, October 21 – Saturday November 2 (Closed Sunday Oct 27): Early Voting Period for the 2024 General Election
Centers are open 8:30 AM – 6 PM during the early voting period
No excuse needed to vote early
