Farm & Landowner Workshops
Farm and Landowner Workshop Program
Farm and Landowner Workshops are conducted throughout the State, virtual and in-person, to engage farmers and landowners of color in USDA NRCS funding programs. Workshops focus on providing critical support for historically underserved producers to increase local market opportunities and long-term capacity. Support services to landowners and farmers include training, conservation management plans, land use best practices, and application assistance.
Building Economic Access & Land Opportunity Program
In recognition of the structural and systemic barriers that has led to social disparities among landowners of color, SCACED has partnered with The Conservation Fund to build economic access and land opportunity. We target underserved women, veterans, African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics and Asians producers with innovative tools and individualized training to overcome key challenges to adopting conservation practices and accessing capital. Our landowner 101/201 workshops provide customized property information on how to assess major features of landowners’ property and how land practices can generate sustainable income. The program direct technical assistance offers small groups and landowners’ access to government financial assistance. Historically underserved landowners and small farmers are encouraged to contact the Rural Resource Coordinator.
