Across South Carolina, our push to support the development of healthy and economically sustainable communities throughout South Carolina is gaining traction. Ideas that would have been hard to conceive of or say aloud, just a couple years ago, are now being debated. The sheer scale of the resources we have (from ARPA funds and other sources) are important but still only meet a portion of the need that South Carolina families face.
As we advocate in 2023 for solutions that we know work, we need to be as thoughtful, inclusive and strategic as possible to move helpful policies, investments and programs forward in the state. We need stronger alignment across stakeholders in our communities and we need greater public support. Building public and political will to move transformative solutions forward – especially those with a focus on economic sustainability – is an important part of our work and it remains tough.
In this workshop, Dr. Tiffany Manuel will share proven strategies for how we can break new ground, take advantage of the current momentum, and get the support we need to make 2023 our most impactful year.
