Exercising Your Voice

The difficult year may have come to an end; however, the pandemic clearly emphasized the disproportionate effect public health crises have on low-wealth and communities of color due to the widening racial gap in health and economic disparities. As we are all hopeful for 2021 to bring more opportunities and growth, now, more than ever, is the time for community organizations to advocate for policies and resources to support communities who have been left out of the economic mainstream.

That's why we're starting our Advocacy Bootcamp Webinar Series. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from local, state, and national leaders to gain the tools and confidence they need to effectively advocate and engage policy makers at all levels. The series will conclude with focusing on three advocacy topics, providing organizations immediate action steps to take.

In this session:

  • It’s our responsibility to inform and tell policymakers what’s going on in their community. Join us for session two on Exercising Your Voice where we’ll cover:

    • Value based messaging & telling your story

    • Knowing and understanding your audience

    • Framing your message to be clear, concise, and compelling

    • Using social media for advocacy

    • Advocating for equitable policies and addressing racial disparities
