Presenter: Amber Stewart, MSW, Program Associate, SCACED (South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development)
Did you know the state of South Carolina has a certification program for community development corporations (CDCs) and community development financial institutions (CDFIs) through the South Carolina Department of Commerce? The South Carolina Community Economic Development Act (CED ACT) was passed in 2000 to support community-based, non-profit organizations that focus on improving quality of life and creating economic opportunity in low-wealth communities. In addition to creating a certification program, the CED Act established the Community Economic Development Fund and Community Development Tax Credit for certified organizations to access. Register for this webinar to learn about the components and benefits of the CED Act of 2000 and the process to become a certified organization.
